Gold Leaf Foil Wall Art

Looking for a wild art project! Try your hand at using Gold Leaf Foil with your artwork. It's a simple and effective way to add a little ambience to your room. Gold leaf foil is easy to attain from most Dollars and Sense Stores at around $5. You will also need a glue that is sticky in texture and not overly wet as this will rip the foil. Use a stiff brush of any sort to remove any excess foil from your painting. Be sure to do this outside as the foil can stick to pretty much any surface of your house making it a real pain to clean. Now for your canvas The Reject Shop has a variety of canvases at affordable prices, the largest size which I have used only cost $20.

What you will need:

- Gold Leaf Foil

- Glue designed to use with Gold Leaf Foil

- Brushes

- Acrylic Paints of your choice

- White Pastel

- Canvas

- Spray Gloss

1/ Paint your canvas with your choice of colour to use as the background colour. I have mixed a few different colours including metalics to give it vibrancy.

2/ Draw the outline of your subject with a white pastel as this easily brushes off upon application of paint.

3/ Apply glue to the areas that you wish to apply the Gold Leaf Foil to. Allow it to thoroughly dry before you brush away any excess Gold Leaf Foil.

4/ All that is left to do now is finish off your painting!
